FG To Present Minimum Wage Figure To Labour Today

In the speed of light to make a considerable minimum wage that the Federal Government can afford, President Bola Tinubu has urged its representatives with organized Labour to present a figure today.

Why urging the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, to prepare the figure quickly, FG said it would be presented to Labour and all actions taken for possible conclusion.

The tripartite committee that met with President Tinubu are Wale Edun, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu; Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and GMD/CEO, of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, CEO, NNPCL, Mele Kyari.

According to Wale Edun, the government is concerned about Nigerian workers and would want to make things more suitable for all.

Recalled that this move is coming after several negotiations by the Federal Government on paying N60,000 as the new minimum wage but Organized Labour disagrees with the figure.
