Raised in a musical family of six, she started singing in her church choir at the age of 9. She recalls walking past her church window and hearing the choir rehearse and wanted to be part of it, so the next weekend she joined. From an early age, her older brother introduced her to Jazz music and she listened to all other genres of music too; from Celtic to RnB to pop music. At the age of 12, She wrote her first song to a jazz piece by the South African music group “Yellow Jackets” with the help of her brother and sang it at her first concert which he took her to. From then on, her brother would take her round Delta State to sing at events. Having parents and siblings who grew up in the choir for support made music naturally a part of her from a young age.

Her dad was a musician in the 70s and 80s, performing with his guitar while studying Law at The University of Nigeria, Enugu and in religious events back at home in Delta State. Himself and his whole class saved up to buy the first school bus for the Lagos State Law school. Following her eviction, she went back to school but decided to try again for the 3rd season of the show. This time she got as far as top 6. Her dad and whole family has always been a big support to her career, with her siblings taking her to audition for competitions in different states and even out of the country to her dad helping to write lines to her songs and even was responsible for naming her hit debut single “AMERE’’. Her dad to this day continues to play a huge role in helping to write songs on her project.

She graduated with a B.Sc. in Human Anatomy from Delta State University in 2014.

In 2017, she participated in the second season of The Voice and made it to the live show round of the competition.
