In a long statement released by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, he provided details of how Nigeria’s economy has taken a new turn for the better, which is even reflected in the prices of items like rice, tomatoes, and other foodstuffs.
The Minister, heaping praises on President Bola Tinubu’s policies, said Nigeria has been firmly set on the right path, as a bag of rice, which was initially sold for N120,000, has dropped to N80,000 from last year’s N120,000, including the drop in prices of garri, pepper, tomatoes, and other food items.
The write-up by the Minister, titled ‘Nigeria Turns Towards Prosperity,’ was posted by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, and shared by the Minister of the Finance Ministry.
Edun, however, noted that despite the progress in the nation, tough realities stare boldly. The exchange rate is stable, and measures will be made for farms to have enough incentives for the next planting season.
