DSTG Pledges Continuous Synergy With The Armed Forces

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured the Military and other sister agencies of its continuous support to their operations in the state.
Oborevwori who gave the assurance at the launch of the 2025 Emblem Appeal Fund held in Unity Hall, Government House Asaba the state capital, honoured and appreciated both fallen and serving heroes of the Armed forces for their efforts in keeping peace and protecting the territorial integrity of the country.
Represented by the Commissioner For Finance, Fidelis Tilije, the governor appealed to the private sector and well meaning individuals to show strong support to the heroes by donating generously to the launch of the Emblem directing all Local government Council Chairmen to launch the 2025 Armed forces Emblem in their respective Council Areas as he charge the state chapter of the Nigerian Legion to put the funds realized from the Emblem launch to good use.
Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Delta State chapter, Ojei Boniface, earlier in his welcome address, solicited for more support in the areas of empowerment and the allocation of farm land as the Legion wishes to engage in commercial Agriculture in order to ensure food security and also source for revenue generation for the legion.
Meanwhile some retired members of the Nigerian legion and members of the Military Widows Association, MiWA, the Delta state chapter, have appealed to government to call their Chairman to order.
They complained greatly about his misrepresentation and syphoning of funds realized from the Emblem launch yearly.
Speaking with CROWN FM, they made a passionate appeal to government to consider members of MiWA in empowerment programmes and help them provide a sustainable source of income to help cater for their needs and that of their children.
In his defence, the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Delta State chapter, Ojei Boniface, denied all allegations and described all allegations as a lie.
