The Delta State Traffic Management Authority, DESTMA, has dismissed the alleged purported court judgement circulating in the media of stripping the agency of her right to regulate and arrest traffic offenders.
Director General of DESTMA, Benjamin Okiemute, who gave the dismissal at his office following an online publication of a court judgement that purportedly said the agency has no power to arrest traffic offenders, assured the public that the agency will continue to operate according to the enabling laws setting it up without any violation.
Okiemute who placed emphasis on the date of the said court proceedings recorded as January 10th being a Saturday, tagged the purported alleged court judgement as false in its entirety and an attempt to rubbish the good work of DESTMA and its personnel.
While dismissing the publication in its entirety, the DG said the arm of the law will soon catch up with pedlars of such falsehood as he urged all law abiding Deltans and road users to continue to obey all traffic laws and regulations designed for the safety of all.
