Delta state governmennt support flood affected communities

The Delta State Government in a bid to cushion the negative effects of flooding in communities in the state has released funds to the affected local government areas to purchase food items.

Hon. Itiako Ikpokpo, the Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) revealed this in a statement on Monday in Asaba.

The ALGON Chairman listed the affected local government areas to include Oshimili South, Aniocha South, Ndokwa East, Isoko North, Isoko South, Patani, Bomadi, Burutu, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Warri South-West and Warri North.

“I appeal to our people to remain calm and patient as the various councils carry out the task of procuring and distributing the food items to affected communities to ensure that no one suffers on account of flooding,” the ALGON Chairman said.
