A young man simply identified as Aminu, an iron excavator, was shot dead by a happy triggered policeman attached to the Agbor Police Division for allegedly refusing to pay N1,000 bribe at Ika South LGA in Delta State.

The policeman was said to have demanded daily dues from the deceased, who said he was yet to make any sales.

According to eye witnesses, when the policeman pressed further, late Aminu agreed to pay N500 twice, which infuriated the cop who brought out his gun and threatened to shoot the victim.

“While arguing, the policeman thought that Aminu did not want to pay the money, trying to threaten him more, a gunshot followed and the man died on the spot.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, told news correspondent that he is yet to be briefed on such incident.

Meanwhile, members of the Arewa Progressive Forum, Ika chapter, staged a peaceful protest at the Agbor Police Area Command, Agbor-Obi, to demand justice for the victim, who was a member of the group.
