Court Sentenced Man to Prison for Raping Minor at Osubi

Months after Mr. Ernest Okporu was arrested for forcefully raping an 11-year-old minor in a community in Osubi, he has been sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment.

In March 2024, Ernest violently tied up the minor and raped her. The case was reported to the police and taken to court. However, a State High Court in Abraka, Ethiope-East Local Government has convicted Mr. Ernest.

The judgment was delivered by Justice S.I. Okeleke on Thursday, and the judge was praised by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Human Rights, Kelvin Ejumudo, for upholding the rule of law.
