The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has been removed by a Federal High Court in Abuja, affirming Senator Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee as the party’s lawful leadership.

The court’s sitting judge, Justice Lifu, while delivering the ruling, upheld the Nenadi Usman-led committee as the only valid and lawful leadership of the Labour Party and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the new leadership and follow suit.

This was according to a post on Wednesday by human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong, stating that the judgment clearly states Abure’s tenure has elapsed in line with an earlier judgment of the Supreme Court.
