The Member Representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Jonathan Ajiroghene Ukodhiko, has moved a motion on the need for the Federal Government to compel Oil & Gas Companies operating in Isoko Nation to provide electricity for the Isoko host communities.

Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko while moving the motion stated that the Isoko North and south constituency had over 8 Oil wells. He asserted that despite the huge contributions made by the Isoko host communities to oil and gas wealth of the nation, these communities have been in total blackout for some years now.

Ukodhiko said the motion had become imperative, especially as staffs of these International Oil companies working in Isoko land live in extravagant comfort with 24 hours electricity generated internally for operational bases and the residential areas while the host communities and their environs live in squalor, watching helplessly the opulent lifestyle of the companies to their oppressors-the Oil Companies.
