Collective Efforts Needed To Save Nigeria- Okowa

The Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, has disclosed that on Tuesday the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa held a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The governor was quoted by Akinyemi in a statement, that former leaders and all stakeholders, including the country’s traditional rulers, should be consulted in finding a lasting solution to the insecurity and economic situations ravening the country.

He was quoted to have submitted that the troubled situation “can destroy our economy, which is not in our best interest.”

Okowa further said the need for a consultation has become important, with the current situation that the country facing the country.

The governor added, “As a country, it is imperative to come together to think Nigeria first. The collective efforts of all well-meaning people and stakeholders are needed at this, to keep the sanctity of our unity.”
