Children’s Party Stampede: Oyo State Government Clears Queen Naomi, Others

The three persons facing 18 counts of charges in Oyo State over the December 2024 stampede that occurred at a children’s festive party, which claimed more than 35 lives, have been discharged.
The Oyo State Government has dropped the charges against Queen Naomi Silekunola, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife; Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, owner of Agidigbo FM; and Abdullahi Fasasi, principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan, on Thursday after a court briefing.
During the court session, the trio appeared relieved after being cleared of all charges and were exchanging pleasantries.
The information was confirmed by Oyo State Attorney General Abiodun Aikomo in a press briefing.
