Bandits Kidnap JAMB Candidates in Benue

Candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have been abducted by bandits on their way to the examination center in Otukpo, Benue State, on Wednesday night.

The Benue Links bus carrying 18 young students was intercepted at about 8 PM as it was moving from Makurdi to Otukpo in order for the students to meet the Thursday examination time.

According to a source, the bus was carrying 18 passengers when the bandits attacked and took the victims into the bush, while the driver and one passenger escaped.

Operations to rescue the victims are currently underway; however, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ifeanyi Emenari, said 14 passengers were abducted, and one of the victims escaped.
