Bandits Are Intelligent, FG Can Work With Them — Ex-Minister

Following the appeal of Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu has urged President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government to negotiate with bandits to safeguard the nation.

The former Minister said a majority of these bandits are able-bodied intelligent men who when engaged with would bring positive results to the country.

Speaking on Channels TV said the use of negotiation would give a promising future, knowing that most of them are very intelligent.

Shittu also cited out-of-school children in the northern part of the country as a major cause for the banditry in the region.

Recall that Gumi a controversial cleric, who has been invited by the Nigerian government to question his claim on how to deal with bandits, had urged the President Tinubu-led administration not to toll the part of his successor.
