All Niger Catholic School Abductees Regain Freedom

The remaining students and teachers abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, have regained their freedom after 100 of the students were rescued on December 8.

The freed students and teachers were taken to the Government House in Minna, Niger State, where they are expected to undergo medical checks and reunite with their families.

Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna, the Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, who also serves as the school proprietor, confirmed the return of the school children and teachers.

He said Governor Umaru Bago personally reached out to him to share the good news.
