It looks like another issue is sprouting up in the Ewu Kingdom a few days after the withdrawal of the Nigerian Army from the Okuama community.

The residents of Akugbene in the Bomadi LGA sharing a boundary with Okuama and other communities around the riverine area, claimed that the returnees from Okuama attacked six persons from Akugbene.

Earlier before the attack, the Vanguard had reported that scavengers invaded Okuama, looting irons, zinc, rods and others immediately they heard the total withdrawal of army presence from Okuama.

According to a source from Akugbene, four people from their community were following the footpath to the Ezebiri Community to get food items from Okuagbe a neighbouring community after they heard that the road was free following the withdrawal.

It was on their way to Ezebiri to get cheaper foodstuff, the returnees from Okuama attacked them with machetes, one escaped back to Akugbene while the others were dragged towards the jetty.

Further investigation from other sources alleged that the youths macheted were those who went to steal at the Okuama community, and immediately the Nigerian soldiers left the community.
