Flood hits Ughelli-South, communities cry for help

As heavy downpour continue to cause flooding ravaging communities across Nigeria, the riverine Communities of Ofrukama, Omosumor, Okparabe, Egbaigolor, Otor Ewu and other surrounding communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area Of Delta State have called on the Federal and State Government to come to their aid as flooding has destroyed their livelihood, making life unbearable for them.

Some of the leaders in the communities, including Ofrukama President General, Daniel Obukoadeta  who spoke to Crown FM News Correspondent in Okparabe lamented the neglect over the years, saying the flood has been a reoccurring challenge to them as they have to resort to paddling in search of where to sleep.

Also speaking on the level of flooding in the communities, Hon Aminogho Ode from Okparabe community said most of the women and children have relocated from their communities. He meanwhile called on the various representatives from the areas to urgently come to their rescue by providing desperately needed food and drugs.
