President Bola Tinubu has informed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council that he will not attend every campaign rally ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that state governance and national economic duties must take precedence.

Speaking on Wednesday during the official inauguration of the campaign council at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu urged council members to drive the party’s grassroots mobilization across states and local government areas while he focuses on state affairs.

Tinubu noted that he aligned with recommendations cautioning against allowing political campaigning to overshadow executive duties, stressing that constitutional responsibilities and economic stability require his full attention.

The President emphasized that critical administrative tasks, including debt servicing, international financial obligations, and ongoing economic reform initiatives, necessitate consistent executive oversight throughout the electioneering period.
