Post created on 3:56 pm

A young teenage lady identified as Chinaza, involved in a boat mishap in NPA waters in Warri, is currently being searched for by divers and fishermen.

The 19-year-old Chinaza was inside a canoe conveying passengers from Sandfill II when it capsized after colliding with another wooden engine boat.

A friend of the late deceased, Miss Favour, disclosed that Chinaza drowned because she couldn’t swim, while her parents and siblings, who were also in the canoe, were able to swim to safety.

She, however, said that the driver of the engine boat has reported himself to the NPA marine police and has been taken into custody for questioning.

Rescue efforts are ongoing in the search for Chinaza’s body, even as concerns are raised about people wearing life jackets and water safety regulations.
