A new development has been announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board that candidates seeking Education and Agricultural programs are exempted from sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

This was disclosed by JAMB on Monday on its X handle that admission to Education programs and Agriculture-related non-engineering courses will no longer require UTME after the Nigerian government announced the scrapping of the UTME requirement for admission into Colleges of Education.

This exemption was made during the ongoing policy meeting on 2026 admissions.
