Man Dies Fighting Pregnant Wife Over Short Skirt

A man in Faram Faram village, Fufore LGA, Adamawa State has been reported dead after fighting his pregnant wife over her wearing a short skirt at home.

On June 13, Patrick John returned from a drinking bar and saw his wife wearing a mini skirt which he had earlier warned her several times to stop wearing and got angry with Maryam.

Seeing the short skirt which Patrick perceives as offensive, a heated argument starts between husband and wife which escalates to Patrick holding Maryam by the neck.

Pregnant Maryam cried and called on neighbours as she struggled to free herself from her husband’s grip. They were eventually separated by neighbors but Patrick returned later to continue his attack.

Attempting to defend herself, Mary picked up a hoe and hit Patrick on his head which later led to his death.

Presiding over the case of homicide the Chief Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, Magistrate Musa Alhaji Adamu, adjourned the case to July 10 after Maryam pleaded guilty but claimed she acted in self-defence.
