Rema,others bag Headies Awards

The 16th Headies Awards was held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, USA, on Sunday, September 3, 2023, for the second time outside Nigeria.

The event, tagged “Celebrating African Renaissance,” was hosted by Nollywood actress, Osas Ighodaro and American media personality, Terrence J.

Since its inception in 2006, the Headies has played a prominent role in the documentation of the success recorded in the Nigerian music industry through its award Rema won the Best Male Artiste of the Year award, while Asake walked home with a brand new car after winning the highly coveted Next Rated category.

Mavin star,  Rema was the biggest winner, going home with three gongs. His Nigerian music renaissance speech was also the highlight of the event.

Similarly, Odumodublvck won a house in Lagos after he was named the Rookie of the Year.

Other big winners were Asake who won the Next Rated Award and a car while Burna Boy won Afrobeat Single of the Year and the Best R&B Song.

Others are Best Southern African Artiste of The Year, Best Central African Artiste of The Year, International Artiste Of The Year, Best Alternative Album, and Best RnB Album.
