13 kidnapped Passengers rescued in Delta

The State Police Command in Delta State, through its spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe has confirmed the killing of a suspected kidnapper in the state.

The command stated that the suspect was killed during a shootout and 13 kidnapped victims were rescued.

“On April 3, 2022, around 8.40 am, information got to the command that kidnappers intercepted a 14-seater bus, with number plate, M831-FJK along Aniagbala community via Ubulu-Uku Road in the Aniocha South Local Government Area, conveying 16 occupants; they kidnapped 13 of the passengers and took them to the bush.

“With a directive from the State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Ali, told the DPO of Ogwashi-Uku, CSP Mohammed Naallah, who lead his men into the bush and ensured that the victims were rescued unhurt.

“In the process, one of the suspects was hit and died on the spot, while the other members of the gang escaped with bullet injuries.

“All 13 kidnap victims were rescued alive and unhurt and one AK-47 rifle was recovered.”

Edafe finally said police operatives were still combing the bush intending to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
