10 Persons Confirmed Dead at Afriland Tower Building

The sad incident that occurred at the Afriland Tower building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, on Tuesday, September 16, as a result of a fire outbreak from the inverter room, has led to the death of 10 persons.

On Wednesday, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) stated that four of its staff members died in the fire outbreak, while another statement released by United Capital indicated that six of its staff members also died in the fire.

Sending condolences to the family members of the deceased, the financial service provider revealed that preparations are underway for a memorial service to honor the lives of the deceased with dignity and solemnity.

In regard to the fire outbreak, the Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu, had to cut his trip short in the United States to mourn the deceased.
