Youths Protest Decentralization of Pipeline Contract at NASS

Some youths from the Niger Delta, under the coalition of the United Niger Delta Congress, are demanding a decentralization of the pipeline surveillance deal, decrying the lack of attention and neglect of their regions.

The youths, in a peaceful protest to the National Assembly, submitted a petition to Senate President Godswill Akpabio to step into the lingering pipeline issues.

Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, UNDC National Secretary Emaluji Michael Sunday said they are only demanding a fair deal for their people, insisting that the surveillance contracts should be spread out across the Niger Delta region rather than handed to an individual or family.
