The Peoples Democratic Party has disclosed why Atiku Abubakar the presidential candidate of the party wants to sell Nigeria’s refineries if elected as president come 2023.

PDP Presidential Campaign Council spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan, said Atiku opted to sell Nigeria’s refineries because the money would fund useful ventures in the country.

Ologbondiythe said the Nigerian government has been wasting money to refurbish oil refineries in the country.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson on Tuesday on Arise TV Morning Show.

According to Ologbondiyan: “Rather than looking for money and pumping it into ventures and refineries that are not working, Atiku is saying, why not sell them and invest in ventures that are working?

“Atiku is saying let us generate funds from the sales of refineries and put it into the economy; I believe that policy is good.”

Severally, Atiku had vowed to sell Nigeria’s oil refineries if elected President of Nigeria in 2023.

During the PDP’s presidential campaign yesterday in Lagos, Atiku said he would sell all of Nigeria’s refineries and use the proceeds to empower youths.
