Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) has spoken about the clash between security officers and Shiite members on Sunday that led to the death of two police officers.

On Sunday in Abuja, during a procession by the Shiites, two police officers were murdered at the Wuse junction by traffic light.

According to the Abuja command, their men were attacked with stones, knives, machetes, and locally made explosives.

Refuting the claim made by the Nigerian police, the leader of the group, Abdullahi Musa who led the procession on Sunday in Abuja, revealed that police opened fire at their unarmed members who joined other members of Shiites around the world to observe the procession.

Musa insisted that the policemen who died were killed by their fellow colleagues who were not in uniform and heaped the blame on the group.

He said they had earlier sent a letter to the IG, informing him about the planned procession but on the deal day, the routes were filled with over six armoured cars. While they looked for other routes to pass, police fired gunshots at them who were mainly reciting in Arabic and holding placards.
