This year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exams seem to be more of an apprehensive mode for students as the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, Prof Ishaq Oloyede stated that the success rate was very low.

During the press briefing yesterday in Abuja after the first batches of results had been released, Oloyede said the number of students who scored below 200 was on the high side.

Recall that 1.9m candidates enrolled for the 2024 UTME but the breakdown given by the Registrar shows that 8,401 candidates scored 300 and above, 77,070 were wavering between 250; 439,974 scored 200 and above while 1,402,490 scored 200 and below.

He also added that students whose results were held because of one irregularity or another would go through some investigations
