Udu Lawmaker Seat Vacant Following Defection From APC to NDC

The seat of Udu Constituency has been declared vacant following the defection of Hon. Collins Egbetamah from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

This comes after the resignation of Egbetamah from APC to NDC dated June 19 was read by the House Speaker, Emomotimi Guwo, who stated that the lawmaker has forfeited his role according to the constitution; therefore, the Independent National Electoral Commission should be aware of the vacancy.

The lawmakers unanimously agreed to the motion on Tuesday after it was raised by Majority Leader, Emeka Nwaobi, and seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Arthur Akpowowo. Presiding over the session.
