Late Monday night a circulation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ordering the retirement of all service chiefs, comptroller General of customs and others, with their immediate replacement, Nigerians have gathered around the list of the new appointees to judge the appointment, especially for checks on possible nepotism.

Critics have concluded that the list of the new appointees is not based on unification as there was no Igbo man’s name included.

Reacting to the criticism on Twitter media spokesperson to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga said the critics are wrong.

According to him, there is no nepotism in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of his new service chiefs, adding that they follow federal character in giving out these appointments.

To prove this, he posted a list of some of the appointees.

In his list, he mentioned Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser (North-Adamawa), Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, Chief of Defence Staff (North), Maj.Gen. Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff (South West), Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff (South East-Enugu), AVM H.B Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff (North), DIG Kayode Egbetokun Acting, Inspector-General of Police (South West), Maj.
