Tinubu Signs Policy To Retain Health Workers In Nigeria

The high rate of medical professionals leaving Nigeria for greener pastures has become a challenge in the healthcare sector as lapses have been seen clearly.

In regards to the decline to address the challenges, President Bola Tinubu has approved the National Policy on Health Workforce Migration.

This was disclosed by Prof Muhammad Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare on his X handle on Monday.

The new policy is majorly to reverse the migration of healthcare workers, to manage the system very well, and to return Nigerian professionals from Diaspora to reintegrate back to Nigeria.

Pate also revealed that through the policy signed by President Tinubu, attractive incentives to return talented professionals are included.
