Tears As Onyeka Onwenu Takes A Bow At 72

Born in 1952 in Obosi, Anambra State and known for her debut album, ‘For the Love of You,’, talented veteran singer Onyeka Onwenu is dead.

It was reported that Onwenu went for a birthday celebration at Banana Island, Lagos State, and was called up to the stage to perform; on returning to her seat, she slumped and was rushed to a hospital in Victoria Island.

The 72-year-old graced the occasion of Emzor Pharmaceuticals CEO Stella Okoli, but unfortunately, that would be her last performance on stage late Tuesday night.

She was rushed to the Reddington Hospital and was later confirmed dead by doctors. The public awaits information from her family.
