Following his arraignment before a Federal High Court in Abuja for cyberbullying the Inspector General of Police, as an illegal IG, among other charges, Omoyele Sowore has been granted bail.
The court, presided over by Justice Musa Liman on Thursday, stated that the 2023 presidential candidate of the AAC is on bail with the sum of 10 million naira and should provide a surety with landed property of like value.
Conditions for his bail include the surety depositing the original documents of the landed property, a passport photograph, and an affidavit of means. While activist Sowore is to surrender his international passport to the court, if the bail conditions are not met within 24 hours, he will be remanded in police custody.
Meanwhile, shortly after his bail outside of the Higher Court, Sowore was seen with other demonstrators singing and chanting “Egbetokun Must Go.”
