Nigerians have been warned to take precautions over the rate at which Monkey Pox is resurfacing in Africa and has spread to different states of the country with 39 cases already recorded.
In Rivers State, two cases of Mpox have been confirmed, according to the State Commission for Health, Dr Adaeze Oreh.
She confirmed the deadly infection on Tuesday during a news conference in Port Harcourt, and the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre is on the move to immediately respond to any emergencies.
Oreh said the government of Siminalayi Fubura has put a mobilization force to find and trace Mpox in Rivers State with ad-hoc staffs who have been trained to help monitor cases.
