Rivers Accord Party Withdraw Petition Before Supreme Court

The appeal before the Supreme Court of Nigeria by Dumo Lulu-Briggs the 2023 governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Rivers State, against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Peoples Democratic Party has been withdrawn.

According to Lulu-Briggs, he said a bid to contribute to the peace of the state over the high tension and political issues ravaging the state, was his reason for the kind gesture.

The information was contained in his 2024 New Year message to the Rivers people.

In the message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Nia’bari Fakae, Lulu-Briggs noted that 2023 was a very difficult year for many Rivers people during which their livelihoods and security were compromised.

The Accord Party candidate said with the crisis going on in the state, action needs to be taken for the sanity of the people of Rivers people.

He commended Rivers people for standing resolute against undemocratic and unconstitutional tendencies.

Lulu-Briggs therefore called on all warring groups to shield their swords and let love, peace and reconciliation be the watchword for the state in 2024.
