Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has stated on Arise TV how security cannot attack bandits during the rescue operation of the 38 CAC Kwara church members and how Bishop Bulus Dauwa Yohanna is not giving the Federal Government access to information concerning the kidnapped Catholic school children.

Stating this on Monday, Onanuga said security personnel know where all the bandits operate in that area but cannot arrest them before an attack due to the fact that the bandits live among civilians.

He said caution was needed because there was a time when the military thought they had the area secured from terrorists, only to discover they bombed the wrong people.

Onanuga alleged that the Niger State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Bulus Yohanna, is withholding information and playing games regarding the Friday abduction of students from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area.

The presidential aide accused the bishop of obstructing efforts by the authorities to determine the actual number of abducted students, dismissing claims that the 50 students rescued were never captured but were the ones who ran to their homes during the bandits’ attack.

“As of the moment, the authorities are in the dark as to how many people are really missing,” Onanuga said, adding that even security agencies had no clarity,” Onanuga.
