Contrary to the viral information spreading on social media that protesters in Rivers State, Port Harcourt, stormed the private residence of Nyesom Wike, police have refuted the claims.

This was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, that nothing of such occurred, but she would make her findings.

Rumors have it that protesters marched from the Choba area of Port Harcourt to Ada-George road, where the former Governor’s house was, and looted things inside.

Speaking of the happening, Prince Wiro, the national coordinator of the Center for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, CBRPAC, said the protesters only passed through Wike’s house holding flags and leaves and chanting the old national anthem.

He said there was no iota of truth in the viral post as heavy security presence was guarding the properties of the FCT Minister.
