The Anti-kidnap unit of the Rivers state police command has rescued a 25-year-old lawyer, Bisola Ajayi, who was kidnapped in front of her home on Sunday 4 October 2020 in Rumuokwurusi, in Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
According to reports, it was DSP Adewale that led the rescue operation that freed Bisola and another victim in the forest hideout of the kidnappers located in Etche. Two people have been arrested in connection with her kidnap, including an arms dealer.
It would be recalled that Mrs. Ngozi Ajayi, has told reporters and the police that the people that kidnapped her daughter wore security operative uniforms. Narrating the horrible ordeal she was forced to witness, Mrs. Ajayi said her daughter was accosted by alleged security officers as she attempted driving into their compound.
She said shouts of “Come down!”, “Come Down!” filled the air, prompting her to come out with her younger daughter, Motunrayo Ajayi, to investigate the source of the noise. Upon reaching the front of the compound, she saw the alleged security agents attempting to force her daughter Bisola out of her car. Thinking she could plead with the officers, she approached them begging them to explain the possible offence her daughter may have committed.
It was at this point the Ajayi family noticed something was amiss, as the so called security agents shot at the ground in between the legs of Mrs. Ajayi before pouncing on her; raining blows on her rather than to reason with her. As this was happening, another opened the front passenger door of Ms. Bisola’s car and jumped in, attempting to drag Bisola out of the car.
In her attempt to stop the beating of her mother, Bisola stopped fighting her assailants and started asking, “Who are you?”. It was gathered that she was then pushed into a white Toyota Venza car and driven off as they shot into the air.
