Nigerian Hip hop singer, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido,  has been slammed with a lawsuit of N2.3 billion by the organisers of Warri Again Concert and Brownhill Investments Company Limited for breaching the contract between them.

The suit was filed by the owner of Brownhill Investments Company Limited, Mr Amaju Pinnick at the Delta State High Court in Effurun through his lawyer, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem.

The former president of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, is praying to the court to award N2 billion as general damages against Davido and his record label.

It also asks the court that Davido should pay the sum of N150m as legal and professional fees, an additional N30 million for the cost of filing the suit and a public apology by the singer on his social media handles and two national daily newspapers for four days.

The statement of claims stated that Davido met Pinnick at Abuja airport and approached him to perform on the 19th edition of Warri Again, on October 6, 2023, the sum of N70 million was paid to Davido but the singer did not show up at the event.

Attempts to reach the singer on the day of the event after promotions have been done were not successful, hence Pinnick’s company is asking for the payment of $94,500 as full payment for engaging the services of Davido.
