The Organised Labour has suspended its proposed strike action barely 24 hours after embarking on nationwide protests against the removal of fuel subsidy.

This was disclosed in an interview on Thursday morning by Festus Osifo, the president of Trade Union Congress on Arise News.

He said the Labour leaders who had earlier met with President Bola Tinubu extracted some commitments to some of the issues raised during the meeting for immediate implementation.

The national treasurer of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Hakeem Ambali, also confirmed the suspension in a message to Punch on Thursday, said, “ Protest suspended due to the Senate intervention and meeting with President Tinubu yesternight.”
