Chairman of Uvwie LGA Ramson Onoyake has described as mischievous, misinformed and misleading the comment by Delta State Waste Management Board member Daniel Ighedo that his administration has been preventing the board from evacuating the age long waste dumpsites in Orumaro community.

Speaking at the weekend after supervising the monthly environmental exercise in Effurun, Onoyake said it will be capital intensive to clear the dumpsite which is over 15-years old stressing that it will be too much of load for the LGA alone to embark on the exercise.

While stressing that his administration is synergizing with the Waste Management Board and the Delta State Environmental taskforce to tackle the menace, he advised public office holders to acquit themselves with the local government’s existing relationships on environmental issues before speaking.
