Onitsha Traders Defy Soludo’s Monday Sit-at-Home Order

Post created on 5:10 pm

Following the order by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to reopen the Onitsha main market that was closed for one week over Monday’s sit-at-home, traders have refused to follow the command.

In videos and pictures shared online, the market as of today, February 2, remains locked, with traders nowhere in sight.

Some of the traders claimed that they have yet to see soldiers who would protect them from the threats of sit-at-home enforcers, and the few soldiers stationed at the market were harassing them.
