Ovie Omo-Agege, the former Deputy President of the Senate under the All Progressive Congress, has officially resigned from the party. A letter dated May 22, 2026, was addressed to the Ward 2 Chairman of Orogun.

Omo-Agege stated that he could no longer remain in a party where he cannot effectively advance the interests of Delta Central and the state. Hence, his consultations with associates and supporters led to this development, as his objectives will be pursued outside the APC.

He therefore requested that his name be removed from all APC membership records, registers, and communication platforms, even as he thanked the party for the platform to serve in the 9th Senate.
