Olu Of Warri Visits Ugborodo and ugbegungun Communities

Ugborodo community Warri South West Local Government Area hosted His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR and Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III over the weekend.

As the community prepared to yield their palace watch duties to the next community, the Eghare-Aja of Ugborodo, Eghare Daniel Uwawah flanked by community elders, youths, indigenes and non indigenes entertained the King and his entourage .

In his response, the Olu of Warri acknowledged the strides of leadership in the community, while adding that a lot more will be done to improve their living standards, so much that those in the diaspora will return to live and contribute to the development of Ugborodo community.

The monarch assessed some of the challenges facing the community, like the washing up of lands due to climate change and called on all appropriate authorities to aid the community with sustainable shoreline protection, to prevent further losses.

Meanwhile, the Olu of Warri His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, also paid an historic visit to ugbegungun community. Expressing his heartfelt happiness during the visit, the king appreciated their peaceful coexistence understanding and promising the community will get all the compensations due to them.

The Trust Chairman of Ugbegungun community, Gbubemi Edah displayed his excitement as, Ogiame Atuwatse III, is the first King to visit, since the community was founded.

Also the community youth leader Abugewa Omatsone added that he is confident the historical visit of the Olu will bring good tidings to the community.
