After a prolonged silence, the Ijaw National Leader and Leader of the Southern and Middle-Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has spoken up, giving Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa up to May 28, 2023, to account for the 13% Derivation Fund accruable to the State, including the recent N250 billion released by President Buhari to Oil-producing States, or be ready to be dragged to court after his tenure.

E.K. Clark has also assured the governor that God will not answer his prayer to become the vice president after he had betrayed the people of Southern Nigeria whose turn it is to produce the next president of the country.

In an open letter addressed to Governor Okowa, titled ‘Your Dictatorial Government And the Reign of Accountability in Delta State’, Chief Clark described him as a dictator and a betrayer of the sacred trust of the entire people of Southern Nigeria, adding that his prayer to become the next vice president will not be answered by God.

Clark described Okowa’s administration as the reign of corruption, noting that there are many issues of corruption and abuse of office perpetrated by him and his government.

The elder statesman also lashed at Gov. Okowa over his penchant for plunging the State into debt with nothing on the ground to show for the huge loans he is incurring daily.

He however promised to do a second open letter very soon that will highlight Okowa’s alleged fraudulent antics at using a new newly-incorporated bank allegedly floated by him, not only to warehouse Delta money but to be a leading lender to the government.

Clark further disclosed that the bank, Premium Trust Bank Ltd, has accepted to dish out loans to Okowa even when other banks are unwilling to be involved in the illicit loan jamboree.
