Okere-Urhobo Regent Refutes Claims Of Illegal Crowning Orosuen

The Otota and regent of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Brigadier General Gold Eburu retired, has described as false, claims by Apostle Isaac Eraivor, Okpakorere of Okere-Urhobo that he and members of the ruling houses were not carried along or involved in the recent selection and installation of the new Orusuen of the Kingdom.

Chief Eburu who spoke during a press conference on Tuesday at the Palace of the Orusuen In Warri, said all the five constituent families, as well as Kingmakers were duly represented at the installation ceremony;  which was done at 9am and not 5am as claimed by Apostle Eraivor.

Chief Eburu also maintained that the Otota who is also the traditional prime minister, oversees the affairs of the Kingdom in the absence of the Orusuen, as enshrined in the Okere-Urhobo declaration.

The Otota added that there was no court injunction, against the selection process that produced His Royal Majesty, Ogheneochuko Eyekpemi Egbobonyen Owhotemu II, as Orusuen.
