Nollywood Actor Postpones Birthday Celebration, Reveals Reason

It has become obvious that the economic situation is biting hard and eating deep into the elite of society and the ordinary man. Just like the saying ‘raindrops on both the poor and rich roof’.

Veteran Nollywood actor common for his roles in Yoruba and English movies, Jide Kosoko recently cancelled his birthday celebration party.

Contributions were made by fans and colleagues to celebrate the legend while he was still alive but due to the economic situation, he placed all celebrations on hold.

The actor who turned 70 on January 12, 2024, posted on his Instagram page reasons why he shifted the celebration, noting that the hardship which he is also part of is biting too much.

In his words on Sunday, Kosoko said things are very hard but gave Nigerians hope that in a little while things will turn out for good.

The legend however greeted his colleagues and fans who came up with the idea to celebrate him despite the situation of the country.
