No Attempted Assassination on Lt. Ahmed Yerima — Police

The reports making the rounds that Lt. Ahmed Yerima, the one who had an altercation with the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, escaped an assassination attempt have been dismissed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

Various platforms on Sunday reported that Yerima was trailed by two unmarked Hilux vans without number plates, leading to a high-speed chase and a “tactical maneuver” that allegedly saved his life.

In a statement on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, described the claims as entirely false and unsubstantiated, as such an incident was never recorded.

The police urge the public to disregard such misleading information with intentions to cause panic and chaos among residents.
