NIMC denies rumour of data breach

The Federal government through the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has denied rumours that Nigeria’s database has been breached.

In a statement on Wednesday, NIMC said the data of Nigerians are safe in its custody and that the information of citizens being circulated on the internet is not from its database.

There have been speculations that some persons are selling off the data of Nigerians on the cyberspace.

The rumours were intensified after the agency said it lost access to the previous database of Nigerians in the custody of foreign vendors.
