The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Asaba, Delta State, has arrested a long-time drug lord, Sunday Ibigide, on his way to distribute 138 kilograms of drugs.
The 36-year-old arrest is coming three years after a manhunt was launched against him on March 19, 2022, but the notorious drug kingpin went into hiding until he was caught with over 250 blocks while on his way to distribution.
This was revealed by the spokesperson of NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday, that one of Ibigide’s close aides, 27-year-old Clement Osuya, was also apprehended following credible information.
24.137 kg of psychoactive substances and 10 grams of molly were seized from the drug trafficker in 2022, but on Sunday, August 10, 2025, the same substance in much larger quantities was recovered from Ibigide.
